According to Vyacheslav Shoptenko, the organiser of the Global Management Challenge in Russia, “This victory is proof of the quality of the Russian human resources. It reflects that Russian management is strong and competitive.”

The Global Management Challenge will grow in the Americas and Africa. Ghana has now joined the network of countries organising the Challenge, coordinated by Seyram Klu, who while studying in the U.K. had contact with the competition for the first time. Seyram Klu believes that this provides good training for corporate executives and a tool for hiring new associates. The objective in Ghana is also to have teams of executives and students. Arnold Parker of Enterprise Consulting is the project manager for the Global Management Challenge Ghana.

In the Americas, Carlos Farcug, organiser of the Global Management Challenge in Mexico and in charge of the Latin America expansion said: “We want to expand the challenge and strong possibilities exist to have Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Cuba joining the competition”.

What the Sponsors are saying

“The Global Management Challenge stimulates competitiveness, which is fundamental for companies, together with team work and innovation. During the last three years, Intrum Justitia has sponsored the competition as a strategic policy to enhance the student’s perception about the company and to be perceived more as a business partner than, as in the past, a collection agency. By sponsoring ‘student teams’, Intrum Justitia maintains a close relationship with them, demonstrating how they can be of use in the future when those students start their professional activities.

Luis Salvaterra
General Manager

EDP, has sponsored the Global Management Challenge for 12 years and believes that this is a good tool for the development of young executives that work at EDP, and is also a recruitment channel. With teams composed of EDP executives and students, we are able to contact closely with the students and evaluate their potential. EDP launched the ON TOP-EDP Recruitment Program to attract and co-opt young high potential students in the main local and international universities. EDP wants to be employer of first choice, remarks António Pita de Abreu.

The Global Management Challenge also provides an excellent environment to address the strategic skills so necessary today and allows the interaction between our executives and students, mixing professional and academia.

António Pita de Abreu
Executive Board Member and Director - President of Energias do Brasil
